Try a document extraction

Answer in 30 seconds

Connect your Windows PC to Dynamite Docs for local document extraction with Ollama. Install the companion, choose a model, then review and export your first document in the web workspace.

Get the Windows companion from Microsoft Store to connect the web workspace to local Ollama. Install Ollama and a suitable model separately, then use AI Settings to connect them to your workspace.

Internet access is required for the web workspace, sign-in, and account services. Ollama model inference runs locally on your PC. Download Ollama and your chosen model separately.

Check the Windows requirements in the Store listing, then check the requirements for Ollama and your chosen model. Allow space for model downloads and enough memory to run them.

Workspace and runtime setup

Browser workspace

Use the online workspace in your browser for import, source review, corrections, and exports. Ollama is only needed when you select local model inference.

Windows companion

The Store companion connects your browser workspace to Ollama. Install it from Microsoft Store and keep it running while using local extraction. You do not need to install Node.js.

Ollama runtime and model

Install Ollama separately and choose a model suitable for your inputs. Hardware needs vary by model, and image extraction requires a route that accepts image inputs.

Installation readiness checklist

Prepare your account and local model before the first extraction. Hardware needs depend on the Ollama model you choose.

Set up your local document workflow. Illustrative example.
  1. Get the companion

Open the DynamiteDocs listing by SevenOneLabs in Microsoft Store, select Download or Get, and complete installation.

  2. Install and start the companion

Launch the companion from the Start menu, then open the Dynamite Docs web workspace in your browser. Keep the companion running while using local extraction.

  3. Sign in to your workspace

Sign in to the web workspace with your Dynamite Docs account. Open AI Settings to connect the companion and choose your Ollama model.

  4. Set up Ollama separately

Follow the linked local AI guide to connect the runtime and a suitable model. Use the workspace AI settings while signed in on an eligible plan.

  5. Test a representative document

Select the local route and extract one supported file. Compare dates, identifiers, table boundaries, and amounts with the original before exporting accepted rows.

Use the accepted output

Review and export in the web workspace after local extraction completes. If the connection fails, check whether the companion and Ollama are running, then reconnect through AI Settings.

Review Excel, CSV, and JSON export formats

Processing choices and allowances

Choose hosted AI, your own provider keys, or local Ollama on an eligible plan. Each successfully processed hosted page uses one PE. Free and Hobby BYOK use the same PE allowance; Pro and Ultra BYOK cost zero PE, with provider charges and limits still applying. Failed pages cost zero PE.

Check current plans, page limits, and capabilities and review storage and data-residency policies before processing sensitive records. Local model inference is a separate choice from browser-local file storage.

Workflow boundaries

  • The companion requires a compatible 64-bit Windows PC. Ollama model memory and storage requirements vary by model.
  • Hosted AI works in your browser without installing the companion or Ollama.
  • Internet access is required for the web workspace, sign-in, and account services. Ollama model inference runs locally on your PC. Download Ollama and your chosen model separately.
